सिद्ध होने का तात्पर्य है–स्वयं की सक्षमता को पूर्ण रूप से समझकर उसका उपयोग करना | अष्ठ सिद्धि वर्णित हैँ हमारे पौराणिक शास्त्रों में |इनमें दूसरी सिद्धि है महिमा सिद्धि जिसका अर्थ है स्वयं के अंदर के विस्तार गुण का आभास होना | ये आभास वाणी में हो सकता है या काया में | आभास मात्र से इस सिद्धि की प्रबलता का बोध हो जाता है, और मनुष्य इसका सदुपयोग करना निरंतर प्रयास से ही सीख पाता है |
